Today, I want to say thank you for reading my newsletter.

I started this 2 years ago to share all I knew about program management, the biggest career lessons, and how to win at work.

What I realized? I’m changing as a person, too.

What I thought was important then isn’t as important now (especially life after quitting corporate to be my own boss).

Yes, I’ll continue to share PM gems because I’m sure that's why you subscribed, but I plan to sprinkle other aspects that are important to me (and maybe for you):

• Lessons as a (new) solopreneur

• Navigating an untraditional career path

• Tips on personal branding (and how I landed features in Business Insider. Like this one about how I 4x my salary in big tech)

• Starting over in my 30s

Okay, so let’s get into the meat and talk about leading a project with IMPACT.

I know Program Managers who used to be:

• A college dropout

• Office Manager

• Military officer

• Consultant

• Translator

• Producer

• Designer

• Engineer

• Analyst

• Teacher

And so many more. Don’t believe me? I’ll give you 11 reasons why.

Don’t let job descriptions paralyze you.

Here is what (actually) matters:

• Measuring and articulating impact

• Leading projects from start to finish

• Ability to influence without authority

• Effectively holding people accountable

• Navigating and driving change that sticks

• Guiding teams to accomplish a shared goal

You are NOT a program manager because of your TITLE.

You ARE a program manager because of your ACTIONS.

This is how I went from a Customer Success Manager to a Program Manager without starting over. I break this into 7 steps I took to pivot to program management.

Remember to focus on impact vs titles.
