How to keep your projects on track | 9 Remote Job Boards You Didn't Know About (Until Now)👇🏼

👋 Hey, it’s Jean!

Last week, I unplugged for my 32nd birthday and had a foodie adventure across SoCal (LA, Anaheim, and San Diego!). And without fail, I get this Korean cold noodle dish, Mul-naengmyeon 물냉면, every time at YUCHUN (try it out).

I think back and reflect on what happened over the past year.

  • Grew to 99,000 across social and gained over 27 million views

  • I became an x3 LinkedIn Learning Instructor with over 100,000 learners

  • Led a leadership offsite in London and San Francisco (and thrived in my role at Figma)

  • Launched a cohort to help people land fulfilling roles in project/program management (which I filled both times)

But the greatest part?

I’ve grown as a person. I chose to bet on myself despite fear of failing.

I left my big tech career of 10 years to be a solopreneur.

I sacrificed comfort for GROWTH.

The takeaway?

You don’t need a perfect strategy to get started.

Imperfect action > perfect strategy any day (see my wins here)

Okay, now let’s dig into one of my favorite project tricks.

Struggling to get people to follow through with tasks?

Today, I will show you how to craft progress reports that drive action.

I’ll share a personal example, too.

Let’s dive in.

Crafting project progress reports

You can copy and paste this template for daily, weekly or even monthly reporting via email, project tools, or instant messaging.

Why it works? It’s clean and simple and forces you to ruthlessly prioritize the main essence of your project (wins, risks/blockers, and next steps).

🟢 Wins (what did we accomplish)

🛑 Risks / Blockers (what are potential roadblocks)

➡️ Next steps (insert mitigation plan and other tasks on deck)

P.S. I love incorporating emojis as visual cues to cut through the noise (don’t overdo it)

Example

Project [Name] On Track: Potential 2-week delay (this is the main headline)

🟢 Wins

  • Successfully onboarded two new team members, who are now fully integrated and contributing to the project

🛑 Risks / Blockers

  • Potential delay in receiving critical materials from the supplier, which may impact the project timeline by ~2 weeks

➡️ Next steps

  • @Jean Identifies two alternative vendors by the end of the day tomorrow - will need sign-off from Steph and Ian

P.S. Are you looking for a remote job?

I shared 9 of my favorite remote job boards (check it out here).

P.P.S. Are you a coach/founder/creator who wants to build an AUTHENTIC + PROFITABLE personal brand on your terms?

I'm on a mission to help people achieve their goals even faster than me (using the power of LinkedIn).
