I Quit My Job After Just 14 Days (Here's Why It Was the Best Decision) | She landed a 70% raise đŸ˜±

I’m a quitter.

And honestly? It’s made me a stronger, more successful person (+ 5x my salary in 9 years). See the full breakdown đŸ’ž

Context:

I quit my job after 14 days.

The culture reflected in the interview was NOT the reality of working there.

The interview process was amazing.

I was so excited to join a great company culture.

Unfortunately, I noticed đŸš©red flags in my first week.

My boss started to micromanage, degrade, and control me.

The reality was that what I was told in the interview was a lie.

So many people told me that I should never leave a job under 1 year.

They said being a ‘job hopper’ would ruin my career, but I decided to own my story.

I chose to leave my job under 1 month to preserve my mental health.

In doing so, I landed better roles, greater salaries, a kind manager, and a healthy culture conducive to my growth.

Don’t let anyone shame you for leaving a job because it looks 'bad.'

Quitting a toxic job quickly isn’t failure. It’s a sign you respect yourself enough to leave what doesn’t serve you.

It’s okay to leave and put yourself first.

đŸš© 5 Signs Your Job Isn’t Right For You (and Exactly What to Do About It):

1. You’re not feeling challenged

✅ Try this: List your top 3 professional growth areas. Are your current projects addressing them? If not, ask your manager for stretch assignments aligned with your goals.

2. You’re not growing or learning

✅ Try this: Every quarter, schedule a "growth review" meeting with yourself. Identify what new skills you gained or need to acquire. Proactively request training opportunities if you're coming up short.

3. Your work lacks visible impact

✅ Try this: Each month, document your key accomplishments. If your contributions aren’t clearly tied to meaningful outcomes (align to company goals), realign your projects in your next 1:1 to ensure visibility and impact.

4. You don’t align with your company’s values

✅ Try this: Print out your company’s stated values. Reflect on how they show up in your day-to-day experiences. If there's a mismatch, trust your intuition because misalignment signals deeper issues.

5. Your contributions aren't recognized

✅ Try this: Start a “wins doc” where you track praise, shoutouts, and measurable impact. Use it in performance reviews to advocate for yourself and spotlight your value. If your contributions still go unnoticed, it might be time to explore roles where your work is seen.

If the answers are NO, it’s time to start looking.

Because NO person or job is worth your mental health 💙

Are you in the right place?

If you answered “NO” to any of these, it might be time to make a change.
