Today, I’ll share a a DM template that actually works (gets responses)

Don’t do this

 ❌ "How do I pivot to Program Management?"

Do this instead (template)

"Hi [Name],

I hope this message finds you well! I’m [Your Name] and I recently stumbled upon your profile while researching [related topic]. My goal is to do Y. I was impressed by your background in [specific area of expertise].

I have X years of experience in [relevant field] and am currently struggling with [specific issue]. I've explored various options, including [mention the ones you've tried], but I'm still falling short.

As someone who has overcome something similar, which is a better course of action: X or Y?

I understand you are likely busy and am grateful for any advice you could offer. I have attached my resume for your reference.

Thank you for your time. I hope you have a great week!"

Why this works

1. It gives clear context to understand your situation

2. It offers an easy exit, showing you respect our time

3. It poses a close-ended question - much easier to respond async
