Claude automated my morning routine
how i got my mornings back in less than 10 minutes
I promised you this one.
In my last newsletter, I shared how Claude helped me hit 100K on Instagram! Today, I have one more mind-blowing Cowork thing to share and this is it:
Every weekday at 7:00 AM, Claude sends me a full morning briefing directly in Slack.
I’m talking meetings, urgent emails, brand partnership updates, deadlines, pending follow-ups, and one specific business opportunity or idea worth acting on that day.
I didn't write a single line of code and it took me less than 10 minutes to set up.
And genuinely, as someone who is constantly juggling travel, managing a team, and keeping up with brand collabs, this has been a godsend 🫣.
Let me show you exactly how it works.
I landed my dream job in big tech 🥹 (here’s how you can do it too)
The secret? A system that actually works for you.
I built an AI-powered job tracker entirely from scratch in Airtable. It researches companies, drafts your outreach, and keeps you organized and laser-focused everyday.
Works for job searches, sales pipelines, content calendars, client management, you name it.

What the brief actually looks like
Every morning at 7 AM, a Slack ping lands. It covers:
What happened yesterday. Key emails, meetings, anything I need to know about.
Active brand partnerships. Any movement on sponsorship threads, new inbound inquiries, anything waiting on me.
Deadlines and deliverables due today. Pulled straight from my calendar and email.
Today's full schedule. Every event, in order, with flags for anything that needs prep.
Pending follow-ups. Threads I haven't replied to, calendar flags I've set.
Draft email replies. For anything urgent, it writes the reply in my voice so I can just review and send.
One business idea or opportunity. Based on everything it sees across my emails, calendar, and partnerships, it surfaces one specific thing worth acting on that week.
It's literally a chief of staff in my pocket. For $20 a month but in all honesty, I've been so obsessed with Claude, I pulled the trigger and upgraded to $100 Max and I have ZERO regrets.
Because look at this! It’s SO good.
How to set it up
You need three things.
Step 1: Get Claude Pro Go to claude.ai/upgrade. This is what gives you access to Cowork and scheduled tasks.
Step 2: Connect your apps via MCP This is the part that makes it actually useful. Claude supports MCP (Model Context Protocol), which lets it connect to your existing tools without an API (no technical setup required).
Go to claude.ai/download and get the desktop app. Then inside Claude, navigate to the connectors menu and connect the apps you want it to pull from. I connected:
Gmail (for emails and sponsorship inquiries)
Google Calendar (for my schedule and deadlines)
Notion (for project and business tracking)
Granola (for meeting notes)
Slack (for where the brief gets delivered)
Connect whatever is relevant to your life. The more you give it, the smarter the brief.
Step 3: Set up a scheduled task Inside Cowork, create a new scheduled task. Set it to repeat weekdays at 7:00 AM (or whatever time works for you). Then paste your prompt. It runs automatically every morning without you touching anything!
📍 My exact prompt (templatized for you)
Copy this and replace the brackets with your own details:
You are [your name]'s daily morning debrief assistant. Run this every weekday morning at 7 AM. Your job is to pull everything together from the last 24 hours and give [your name] a clear, prioritized start to the day. No fluff, just what matters.
[Your name]'s preferences: No em dashes. Short, clear sentences. Professional yet warm tone. Bullets or short paragraphs. Bold for emphasis when helpful.
PART 1: CATCH-UP BRIEFING (Last 24 hours)
Search Gmail for messages from the last 24 hours. Exclude promotions and social. Search Gmail for any messages with the label "Sponsorships" from the last 24 hours. List Google Calendar events from yesterday and today. List Granola meeting notes from this week. Search Notion for recent updates.
Synthesize into:
What happened yesterday
Active brand partnerships (flag anything awaiting action)
Deadlines or deliverables due today
Today's schedule in chronological order
Pending follow-ups
PART 2: INBOX PRIORITIZATION
From all emails pulled, sort by urgency:
Respond today: emails from humans awaiting a reply, especially brand partners or collaborators
FYI / No action needed: confirmations, notifications
Can wait: newsletters, cold outreach
For every "Respond today" email, write a draft reply in [your name]'s voice. Conversational, warm, short. No filler. End with a clear next step.
PART 3: WHAT'S COMING UP THIS WEEK
Pull Google Calendar events for the next 7 days. Check Notion for upcoming projects and campaigns. Check Gmail for threads mentioning future dates or deliverables.
Surface:
Key events this week
Deliverables due this week
One business idea or opportunity worth acting on this week, based on everything you see across emails, calendar, and partnerships. Be specific, not generic. 2-3 sentences.
One thing to focus on today
End with: "Have a great day, [your name] and insert something motivational and personalized for me!"That's literally the whole thing. I've been sharing this hack with so many people, and they literally told me that I should be selling this, but I'm giving it away completely for free.
Because knowledge is power, and I want all of us to make AI our unfair advantage.
What do you want to learn next?
Respond back to this email with 1 thing you need help with, and I'd love to add it to my next roundup to make these newsletters as meaningful and actionable for you 🙂
Until next time,
Jean
